Do you ever wish that you could tell a story about you and your life and have it come true?
If you think about it, all we are really ever doing is telling a story.
We write our story for how things are going and we tell it to ourselves over and over and over. Then, we live that narrative often without questioning it.
But, do we like the story? That’s the kajillion dollar question!
In this episode of Tea with Robin, we’re talking about releasing our unintentional negative stories and choosing intentionally the ones we wish to tell. I will tell my story as I want it to be! I read a favorite poem from Dawna Markova and read a letter from a friend who’s wondering if he’s got the right stuff to offer healing to people. All this and more. Grab a cuppa yum yum and meet me here.

My notes from this show:
We talk about the flow and manifesting here a lot and one of the things that comes up is how do you prepare for things you’re feeling nervous, anxious, and plan for it going well?
You’re there, imagining all the logistics in a negative way. But it doesn’t have to be like that!
It’s not that you’re not gonna have worry and be anxious, it’s all about how you choose to focus.
Imagine how you want it to be, imagine the story you want to tell, not the story that is dragging you to hell 😉
(about a recent concert I attended) You have those head stories saying, it’s gonna be awful! And I am gonna have to pee and I can’t get out of my aisle and gonna take forever…
And so I just practiced kindness and compassion for my issues. Because I can be so hard on myself and that doesn’t help. Judging ourselves for how we feel is not kind. That’s kicking ourselves to the curb.
You can’t really help how you feel, but you can work with it.
I envisioned how I wanted it to be. And I kept telling the story of how I wanted it to go.
And that’s what focused story-telling can do for you, practicing staying intentionally aligned –
It’s not that you won’t have feelings coming up, but don’t protect and cherish those stories, you will make more of that.
You might be there thinking, Oh sure, Robin, you’re talking about a dumb concert what about me and my Big Ticket Item?
I know people right now with bigtime cancer and this is how we’re working on it – and we see their blood tests come back better all the time, they’re feeling stronger all the time.
Depression? Yes, this is how we rock it.
Wondering what’s the point of even being here? Same.
People who are finally taking their hearts so seriously that they’ve decided to leave multiple decades long and seek what would truly make them happy and this is how we’re doing it.
People who get jobs this way
People who find homes this way
Find love this way
Adopt dogs this way
Collaborate with new business partners this way…
This is just a few examples of friends I am helping right now.
And you out there, still skeptical, you’re my favorite unicorn. I get it, you’d rather not be caught flapping in the wind, better safe than sorry, why not practice instead of going over and over the fear and the stories and the evidence of what came before, why not practice how you want it to be and then see if your energy field and your inner guide will direct you in the direction you need to go.
I call this Freaking Yourself Out in a Good Way. I’d rather practice in this direction of my joy and light and happiness than just continue to allow myself to go down the tubes in my fear.
It’s all about that story you’re allowing to be your north star. Think about your own day or week right now, what story is prevailing?
You can choose to be in the flow, in your light, or, we can keep going with this struggle and fight.
It can be wonderful, it can be easy, and it can be how you want it to be.
Think about the story that’s prevailing in your life right now? You can choose to be in the flow, in your light… or we can keep going with this struggle and fight. It can be wonderful, easy, and how you want it to be…
Just tell the story you want to tell and practice trusting that your odds are so much better of getting what you want and choosing with focused attention.
Every day we have the opportunity to choose the story. We can choose the one that will potentially be upsetting or wonderful, it’s really our choice.
We future forecast all the time… we can get in a state of that all the time because our past has been so bad. So we carry worry and hold on, bracing for impact… because it’s been so challenging. But this doesn’t help us. What we’re doing is ordering the same dish again and again.
We aren’t going to be able to stop our minds from the fiction it creates, how can we use it to say, I don’t want to be upset, I am gonna let it go.
Tell me what you want instead. Because anything is possible that you can imagine… and even better! So many things that happen for us for the good it isn’t even what we were expecting.
If you’re somebody who thinks it’s irresponsible to not worry about your problems — we are not doing a service to our hearts to carry around the worry. So the practice is, you catch a worry you catch yourself doing it, stay light-hearted about it — I am always giggling at my inventive mind — stay amused at how inventive and creative you are, how tenacious you are. Stay friendly with your own heart. And this will help you remember quickly: oh yeah! I wanna tell the story as I want it to be.
How good can you stand it?
You don’t need to go for lukewarm or ho-hum… I hear people tell me that all the time… they roll their eyes, and will not budge from the position of “ugh, I am looking forward to this being over.”
No! Let’s have fun and delight.
So, what if you’re there feeling like BUT! I don’t know what my story to tell is?! It’s okay. It’s about the way you want to feel. It isn’t about the exact narrative… tell the story of how you want to feel.
I want to feel ease,
I want to feel lit up
I want to feel like I know what I am doing
I want to feel like I know what it’s for
I want to feel soothed
I want to feel rested
Tell those stories instead…

A Course in Miracles Quotes:
There is no order of difficulty in miracles, only thinking makes it so. — A Course in Miracles – Text CH. 1
Who are god’s teachers? M-1.1. A teacher of God is anyone who chooses to be one. 2 His qualifications consist solely in this; somehow, somewhere he has made a deliberate choice in which he did not see his interests as apart from someone else’s. 3 Once he has done that, his road is established and his direction is sure. 4 A light has entered the darkness. 5 It may be a single light, but that is enough. 6 He has entered an agreement with God even if he does not yet believe in Him. 7 He has become a bringer of salvation. 8 He has become a teacher of God.- A Course in Miracles – Manual for Teachers
Gospel of Thomas: If you do not bring forth what is within you, what you do not bring forth will destroy you.”
Matthew 7:7: 7 Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. 8For everyone who asks receives; he who seeks finds; and to him who knocks, the door will be opened.…

The poem I read:
I Will Not Die an Unlived Life by Dawna Markova
I will not die an unlived life
I will not live in fear
of falling or catching fire.
I choose to inhabit my days,
to allow my living to open me,
to make me less afraid,
more accessible,
to loosen my heart
until it becomes a wing,
a torch, a promise.
I choose to risk my significance;
to live so that which came to me as seed
goes to the next as blossom
and that which came to me as blossom,
goes on as fruit.
